Update wipes out my playlist! The site has always been unstable, but this is ridiculous!

It would make more sense if downloading it on the app synced with iTunes automatically- but this isnt the worst case scenario. Its still free music, so Im grateful.

I updated the app, however now all of my playlists are gone and it will not allow me to create any new ones. It makes it pretty difficult to listen to music, specifically if you are trying to listen to it while in your car.

This app is very cool! I am so glad my friend told me about it b/c its all free! I can get the coolest and tops songs for free and five songs a week! I have had no trouble creating playlists, and only one small glitch. The glitch gave me another five free songs before the week was up--not that Im complaining! The app has a very old structure though--everything is square and kinda reminds me of my old iPod from s 4 years ago. Still, very cool app that I would recommend for people who love music!

This app is a relatively useful companion to the Freegal website. It, however doesnt have all the features the website has. I wish the interface were updated to be more in line with the latest iOS version. It looks so outdated. Also, the web has a feature that if you have reached the max downloads for the week, 5, it will allow you to add a song to a wish list instead. I dont see this option on this app, but I must say, I havent tried using the download button once Ive reached the limit, so it may be there. Overall the app could use some updates too. Its not that intuitive. Navigation needs some thoughtfulness. Even the website navigation is bad. If songs/artists arent in one of their lists like a "Top List" you have to search for them. One huge thing that needs fixing is that while a song is playing, iPhone (at least iOS 9 on iPhone6) doesnt recognize it as music, so iPhone doesnt show the controls for play/pause or back/forward. So while you are, for example streaming a whole album, it wont let you skip a song because there is no navigation for that. You just have to let it keep playing an album like one giant track.

The app has a good selection of music. Obviously not like Amazon or iTunes but still not bad for it being free. Once you download the music you can listen without being connected to the internet.

The freegal streaming service is fantastic so Im glad to have an app for it. However there is no "player" per se and you have no control over playing the music, other than stopping it. You cant forward, go back, or even find where the song is playing. At least I havent figured it out.

Space waster on your phone. Absolutely the worst app on my phone.* They should be ashamed of themselves for charging libraries for this "service." Searching and browsing is horrible and hard to use. Buttons are too small. There is no "now playing" button. The app has to be force closed if you cant find the song playing. Searching for artist or song is ham fisted. Complete and utter contempt for the user. Spend some money hire someone to fix this garbage. It hasnt been update in a year. Its the same app since it was first made. Its broke and they wont fix it. * I deleted the app. Gave app another try on 5/19/2015. No change. Update in December 2014 is useless. UX is garbage and I recommend libraries use hoopla. They dont even have a web responsive website. No face book presence. The only FB page is to a library that hasnt updated freegal in years. Garbage. Gave it another try 12/14/16. Nothing fixed. UI still garbage.

Content is substantial but not complete. There are a lot of known artists, but a great many of unknown artists. Player is near useless on iPad/iPhone. You cant even pause a selection. If youre interrupted streaming an album you have these choices: 1. Let it keep streaming and miss content. 2. Stop the selection and resume streaming the album from the beginning or play each selection manually by starting the next selection when one finishes. The website is better, but not responsive.

Thx spl.org for this access. What used to 3/ wk is now 4. Being a techie troglodyte, have looked up the old-fashioned slow route. Recently woke unable to sleep. Thot to turn on ancient old copyings, made several hrs. much better. For Free, its gr8! The library pays for each download. Please continue to give them useful feedback.

Even though the app doesnt have all the songs Im looking for its still good. And I dont mind the three downloads per week thing, but I was once logged out of my account because the app said it needed to update. When I logged in all the music I waited so long to download was missing. Also there is no restore button so I have to wait months to get all the music I once had.

There is no point in this app. Just download the music and import it into iTunes. The service itself is wonderful.

Wish I downloaded sooner! So glad I have access to freegal :D however I wish I could transfer the songs I bought onto my computer :(

When it asks me to put in my library it doesnt work and I know my library has freegal I use it all the time

Type in Canada then it will give a list of the librarys

Now that you have added iTunes File Sharing, this app is great! But why cant I pause/play using the multitask and lock screen players?

Only allowed me to download 3 songs then quit. I know online my library allows 3 songs per day. This is now 3 days later and I still cant get anymore. Uninstalling.

Very buggy: -Wont recognize some cards -Corrupted/mis-named songs slip through -Several buttons in the search interface are broken/not working -Search results are poor; lots of digging to find the song youre looking for -Many failed downloads which still eat up your song allowance Gotta wonder how much the library is paying for this failure on my behalf...

I mean I can use play tube app and its better and I can get any song I want and make it replay. The website lets me put it on the computer... I thought it would let me download on my iPod...
